22 February 2010 Local ad man on international agenda
The Jupiter Drawing Room’s Graham Warsop will be travelling to The Dominican Republic in late March to judge America’s prestigious One Show Awards. It will be his second time on the jury (In 2001 he had the distinction of becoming the first SA creative director to sit on a One Show panel). This year’s jury has only three judges from outside the Americas and Europe (the other two are from Canada and China).
Having accepted the invitation to judge the One Show, Warsop then received an invitation to be a Jury Chairman, for a second time, at America’s other top award’s show, the Clios.
Because the dates overlap, he was forced to decline this latter invitation.
Warsop said, “It’s obviously a great honour both personally and as an ambassador for The Jupiter Drawing Room and the local industry. When judging overseas I inevitably bore people senseless telling them about our achievements as a country with such a tiny percentage of world ad spend. Obviously, as I last judged nine years ago, they have forgotten that fact”.
The One Show and Clios are the only US shows endorsed by the SA Creative Circle.
